Why Kasspar exists.

Kasspar is an independent cybersecurity-education project with one aim: to make everyday people and small organisations genuinely harder to hack. Not by frightening anyone, and not by selling a product, but by explaining how real attacks work in language anyone can follow, and pointing to the few habits that stop most of them.

The security industry writes for itself. Advice is either so vague it is useless ("stay vigilant") or so technical it assumes you already know. Meanwhile the attacks that actually catch people are simple, repetitive and well understood. That gap between what experts know and what the public is told is where most harm happens. Kasspar is an attempt to close it, one clear explanation at a time.

Everything on this site runs in your browser. There is no account, no tracking, and nothing you type is sent anywhere. The password lab, leak checker, generator, URL inspector, quiz, checklist and phishing trainer are teaching tools; they are not a substitute for the security settings on your real accounts, which is where the actual protection lives.

Who it is for

Individuals, families, and small organisations without a security team: shops, practices, charities, clubs.

How it is written

Plain language, with the reasoning shown. Where advice is a judgement call, we say so instead of pretending it is a rule.

What it is not

Not a product, not a consultancy pitch, and not a place to enter real credentials. Test your habits here; fix your settings at the source.

How the tools stay honest

Nothing on this site invents a number. The leak checker says exactly how many passwords it holds and where they came from. The URL inspector calls itself a heuristic aid. The password lab's time-to-crack figure is labelled as an estimate with its assumptions shown. Where a complete answer needs a service Kasspar cannot bundle, such as checking whether your email was in a breach, we link to the real one instead of pretending.
